Is ONLINE DIGITAL KHATA safe for small businesses?
The Corona Pandemic brought a foray of worries for small
businesses to an extent that most of these businesses switched over to selling
essential products/services during the lockdown. Moreover, with the pandemic
came the boom in digitization across the platforms. With people switching over
to digital payments and discarding cash et
al, the need for managing businesses online has grown manifold. The massive
wave of digitization has also led to the widespread adoption of the digital khatabook app. Independent small and micro businesses are gradually moving

Apart from offering a simple, intuitive, and user-friendly
interface, these platforms help merchants in managing huge arrays of
transactions at the touch of a finger. These include the Sundry Creditors and
Sundry Debtors, which one generally tends to forget and are hard to keep track
of. Additionally, these apps provide the flexibility of feeding in data as per
the convenience of the user. Although these apps and platforms have experienced
tremendous growth in a very short span and have made their reach possible to
millions of small and micro businesses, yet there are inhibitions in the adoption of
these technologies by the masses. These inhibitions are but natural and bound
to occur in any changing society. They were there when Debit Cards were
introduced or when Digital Payments including eWallets were popularized.
The question that arises is that ‘Are these Digital Ledgers
or Digital Khata, as they are popularly
called, really safe to be used by masses?’.
The answer lies in understanding the concept and its rapidly growing
popularity.
